London 2038: The once great city lies in ruins. A massive, sinister gash in the fabric of our reality gnarls and churns, dominating the horizon as it blends into a permanently darkened sky. According to legend, when the ravens depart the Tower of London, it will crumble to rubble and disaster will befall England. As man became more dependent on science, ancient lore and rituals were lost to the antiquity of time. Hellgate: London combines the depth of role-playing games and action of first-person titles, while offering infinite playability with randomly created levels, items and events. |

The player creates a heroic character, completes quests and battles through innumerable hordes of demons to advance through experience levels and branching skill paths. A robust, flexible skill and spell system, highly customizable appearances and a massive variety of randomly generated equipment allow players to create their own unique hero. | Tide Pool Phase — Fight with other creatures and consume them to adjust the form and abilities of your creature. It’s survival of the fittest at the most microscopic level. Creature Phase — Venture onto land and help your creature learn and evolve with forays away from your nest. The only way to grow is by taking chances. Tribal Phase — Instead of controlling an individual creature, you are now caring for an entire tribe. Give them tools and guide their interactions as you upgrade their state of existence. City Phase — Bring your creatures’ race into a new golden era by building up the technology, architecture, and infrastructure of their city. Civilization Phase — Once your city is established, your creatures begin seeking out and interacting with other cultures. Make contact with an olive branch or a war cry. The goal for your creatures is to conquer the planet. Space Phase — The time has come to move on to other worlds in your solar system. Make contact, colonize, or terraform, then venture further to find other solar systems. A ‘mission’ structure provides new goals in your quest for galactic dominance. Guillermo del Toro is reuniting with "Hellboy." The director of the 2004 feature will work with the creator of the comic book to develop an original video game based on the big, red, paranormal hero. Konami America chief operating officer Geoff Mulligan made the announcement Tuesday in connection with the video gaming conference Electronic Entertainment Expo unfolding at the Los Angeles Convention Center this week. Del Toro will collaborate on the "Hellboy" game with the comic’s creator, Mike Mignola. An avid gamer, Del Toro said in an interview before Tuesday’s announcement that he loves working in video games because there are no limits to the imagination. "There’s a very nice atmosphere with games, sort of Hollywood the way God intended it, really," del Toro said.
The action game will be released in 2007 and puts players in control of Hellboy, who comes armed with all of his familiar characteristics like the Right Hand of Doom.

Blizzard Entertainment Inc. and Legendary Pictures are suiting up for war.
The companies are teaming to produce a live-action film based on Blizzard’s award-winning "Warcraft" video games, with Legendary acquiring movie rights to the "Warcraft" universe. The "Warcraft" games debuted in 1994, and the franchise now has four titles in release. "Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness" (1995) won multiple game of the year awards, while "Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos" (2002) broke sales records. The latest game, "World of Warcraft," is one of the most popular multiplayer online role-playing games, with a reported subscription base of more than 6 million.
The movie would not follow one of the games but rather be set in the epic fantasy universe, which includes orcs, trolls, elves and the undead.
