The Crow relaunch is taking off, and may be months away from a greenlight. We caught up with the movie’s producer and found out exactly where the film is in the casting process, and asked the all-important makeup questions. While he was doing press for drama Brothers we caught up with producer Ryan Kavanaugh and got an exclusive update on his next project, the massive relaunch of The Crow, penned and directed by Stephen Norrington.
I heard The Crow script received great reviews, where is it at now?
The script is great. We’re very excited about it. The Crow is definitely going to happen, we’re just getting all the pieces together right now. It’s not officially greenlit, but it’s going to happen… I think in a couple months we could have the package together for sure.
Any casting ideas?
Can’t talk about that yet, but we’ve got good ideas.
Are you casting right now and looking?
We’re looking. We’re in discussions….I think it’s something cool, we’re approaching it differently. It’s really a whole relaunch of the franchise, much more of a dark superhero type.

Last week in New York, Blizzard offered a product release roadmap (thanks Kotaku) for the next few years, showing what is to come in 2009, 2010, and a few years beyond. For this year, the company listed World of Warcraft only, however Blizzard obviously plans to provide content beyond 2011 with the release of Cataclysm in 2010 and other content beyond. As for 2010, Blizzard also lists a few titles other than the World of Warcraft expansion. Included is the highly anticipated sci-fi RTS StarCraft II and the upgraded Battle.net. Also on Blizzard’s list is "China Online," an entry we assume represents the updated version of World of Warcraft, specialized for the Chinese requirements. But what isn’t on the 2010 list is Diablo III.
Gamers wanting the fantasy-themed action RPG may not see the game until 2011 or 2012 according to the presentation. This period of time will also host a few other titles however, including Blizzard’s mystery "unannounced MMO" and the Star Craft II expansion. Battle.net also appears in the "next few years" category; we presume Blizzard will be making modifications and adding new features to the revamped service over the next three or so years.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 blasted past $US300 million ($325 million) in sales on its opening day, blowing away even Hollywood films to become the highest-grossing entertainment launch ever. MW2 sold 4.7 million copies and racked up $US310 million in sales in the United States and Britain alone when the eagerly-anticipated title from Infinity Ward Studio made its worldwide debut on Tuesday (local time). The videogame even bested Batman film The Dark Knight, which holds the record for the top opening weekend ever by taking in $US158.4 million in July 2008.
"The Call of Duty franchise has become a cultural phenomenon showing the power of videogames as an entertainment medium," said publisher Activision’s chief executive Mike Griffith. MW2 is the sixth title in the Call Of Duty franchise, which has won a devoted following since the first version was released in 2003. Reviewers have praised MW2 for its game play options and vivid graphics.

(The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum, United 93) re-team for their latest electrifying thriller in Green Zone, a film set in the chaotic early days of the Iraqi War when no one could be trusted and every decision could detonate unforeseen consequences. During the U.S.-led occupation of Baghdad in 2003, Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller (Damon) and his team of Army inspectors were dispatched to find weapons of mass destruction believed to be stockpiled in the Iraqi desert. Rocketing from one booby-trapped and treacherous site to the next, the men search for deadly chemical agents but stumble instead upon an elaborate cover-up that inverts the purpose of their mission. Spun by operatives with intersecting agendas, Miller must hunt through covert and faulty intelligence hidden on foreign soil for answers that will either clear a rogue regime or escalate a war in an unstable region. And at this blistering time and in this combustible place, he will find the most elusive weapon of all is the truth. Check out official website here –>Link |
